Oh good grief! That is VERY scary! I haven't watched her in a few years but I certainly won't be tuning in now. She and many others will be held accountable one day for people that they led astray.
I'm in total agreement! She is NOT a Christian!! Just because she has a huge following does not mean anything she says is right. There is only one path to heaven, and she's on the devil's detour, ha ha!
I agree that just because Oprah has such a huge following, is no reason to take what she says is right, or that her opinion should carry any more weight than my own. But, what I find scarier than some of the things that she has said that have been taken out of context over a long span of time, is that so many people are afraid of her words.
God put His Love in my heart. He put his Words in the Bible to comfort and guide me. Didn't he do the same for all of Christ's followers?
Of all the things that God has given me, the one thing I know is not mine, is the right to judge who else will be in Heaven when I get there. That is for Him alone. I KNOW that I am saved through the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His death on the cross for my sins, has saved me. And I've sinned a lot.
But who am I to say that the woman down the street who always puts the needs of others before her own, who never envies what others have or speaks ill of those that might speak ill of her, who is kind to the meekest of strangers, who would never dream of stealing what another has worked hard for and that teaches her children these ways and shows them unconditional love and the importance of being kind to others, but follows a religion that is not my own, who am I to say that she is not going to Heaven? Can I say that she does not have the love of God in her heart? No I can't. God did not give me that ability to judge.
What he did do was give me the ability to present quiet testimony of the resounding Truth. When I made a short road trip last week, I stopped at a gas station. There was a man there in his mid to late 20's I'm guessing. Tattooed, shaved head, not toting a Bible under his arms let's say. He also had a flat tire. He didn't have everything he needed to change it and stood up and asked in a voice that several of the men around me could here, "does anyone have a lug wrench I could use?". None of those men said a word. But as a child of God I said, 'sure'. And when watching him struggle with the grip, I went and got my leather work gloves out of the car for him to use. I needed to get to my appointment after a few minutes and told him I needed to leave. He went to take the gloves off, but I knew he still needed them. I told him to use them and then just leave them with the cashier when he was done and I would stop and get them on my way back by. You could see the look in his eyes that knew I trusted him. I didn't need to tell him that those were expensive and my favorite and that I use them every day to work with concrete and rusty wire and need those gloves. I went my way and came back by later. I stopped and picked up my gloves with the cashier as I knew they would be. I did nothing special or miraculous, but the next time this guy sees a white woman that needs help, do you think he might be ever so slightly inclined to assist, rather than judge her as someone who would not help him?
Is Oprah helping the Anti-Christ? I don't know. But if a Christian is so easily confused as the announcer on that clip would have us believe, then they need to work on the Christian part some more.
Is Oprah a Christian? I don't know that either as I'm not her. But the idea that everyone does not have to travel the exact same path to get to the same place is not blasphemous. It is admitting that it is not up to us humans to decide. Man can make all the rules (religions) he wants. I don't follow religion. I follow Christ. And I don't find that confusing or scary.
Here is my view on this whole Oprah thing: First and foremost I believe the Bible is infallible. It is not just a collection of stories to help people live a better life. It is a divine message from God that tells us how to live and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I think Oprah has done some amazing things with her money and her life. I will never begrudge her that. She has decided to step into the political arena...fine, do what you like. I think Obama is a racist and an elitist and has no experience on foreign policy or economics. I will be terrified for our country if he is elected. (At this point it is the best of the worst) But now she has stepped into the spiritual arena. That is a whole other ball game to me. She could be going through a "faze" and decided to share with her audience (which is enormous) her thoughts on this book. Who is this guy?? So many people are reading it and taking this as truth rather than what we know is the Truth and that is the Bible. Yes, people are idiots and have a hard time thinking for themselves. There are people all over the world like that... I know that God did not put me on this Earth to judge. I don't want to judge, I don't want that kind of responsibility. That is God's job not mine. But for my personal salvation I know that there is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 If this is not true then Jesus was a lunatic. Everything He said was wrong, He would be a liar. I don't worship a God like that. My spirituality is not a feeling or an emotion. It is real and living and breathing in me. As far as the rest of the world, I don't know. Someday they will have to answer, how God handles their salvation, I just don't know. God didn't ask me to figure out the world's salvation, He asked me to go be a light unto this very dark world. Do I do things perfectly in my life, no. Is God always pleased with me, no. Are there non-Christians who are a better person than me, absolutely. But I try everyday to live the way God asked me to and because of His amazing Grace, I am forgiven, over and over. 6 To the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace 8 That he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding 9 He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ. Ephesians 1:6-9

So there's my two cents...take it or leave it...
I'll take it, Michelle! Amen and Amen!
